I now realise the behaviours that needed to change were mine, not my dogs. I thought my dogs were out of control but have since discovered it was my leadership that was unclear to my dogs. I now know how to change my behaviour to make my dogs feel secure and my dogs have responded very positively in a relatively short period of time. I am so pleased to have found a method that actually works and does not involve punishment or control, but allows me and my dogs to work together as a team.

Our dog Sam was fine in the new house if we were there, but if we left he suddenly became a barker, something he did not even do as a puppy. He  turned over the linen basket and carried the laundry into the garden. He was clearly stressed, which we found heartbreaking, and the neighbours complained bitterly and repeatedly about his irritating barking.  I made calls to conventional animal trainers who assured me they could stop him barking, but their methods involved frightening him into obedience - the last thing he needed!

Once we engaged K9 Heart to Heart and were taught, with gentleness and compassion, that Sam needed to be confident that we were in control of the pack, and would take care of any danger (his confidence in us had clearly been shaken) we were able to use strategies that enabled him to relax and return to his natural happy and peaceful state.

We had several follow up emails for clarification and it was comforting to know that there was support at the end of phone if we had any more concerns in the future.
